The Framework
The Institutional Structure Behind the Platform
Independence and accountability across the entire pre-need lifecycle.
PNA serves as sponsor – selecting independent institutions, each integrated into the platform.
PNA’s role helps ensure that each role remains independent, helping protect assets.
PRINCIPLES
Six Principles. One Fiduciary Model.
These elements define our vision and how we’re reengineering pre-need for accountability and control.
Fiduciary Oversight
The trustee, with pre-need experience, serves as an independent fiduciary on every account. The movement of funds requires trustee authorization, providing safeguards that operate outside PNA’s walls. Trust administration confirms that each account complies with its governing documents and applicable state requirements, while investment oversight monitors the investment managers’ adherence to approved guidelines. Because that decisioning lives within the platform, at-need disbursements are processed with reduced delays.
Custody with Independence and Transparency
Every pre-need contract is held in a separate account at Charles Schwab, with its data integrated into PNA’s platform, giving trustees and funeral homes real-time visibility into balances and holdings, both globally and at the individual-account level.
Any movement of funds requires trustee authorization, helping to ensure independent checks at every step.
Disciplined Management
The independent SEC-registered investment adviser manages each account under trustee-approved models that emphasize inflation-aware design.
Clarity Brings Confidence
PNA unifies data from its institutional partners, ensuring funeral homes have daily visibility into balances, holdings, and performance at both the account level and consolidated level. Performance, benchmarked against inflation, helps funeral homes know where they stand.
Control Without Compromise
With separate custody for each account, funeral homes can transfer their pre-need program to a different provider, if they desire, so the funeral home remains in control.
Built for State and Fiduciary Compliance
Compliance is embedded in PNA’s operating structure. Each account follows state-specific requirements, including deposit timing, investment restrictions, retainage rules, audit standards, and reporting obligations.
