SEPARATE CUSTODY
Charles Schwab as Custodian
With Schwab, every pre-need account is held separately, ensuring transparent ownership and institutional-grade asset protection.
A custodian holds securities for safekeeping and facilitates transactions. In the case of PNA, each pre-need contract is maintained in its own account—never pooled—so ownership is clear and auditable with real-time visibility into balances and holdings.

Schwab is more than custody
Access to Institutional Investment Products
With Schwab, the investment manager can access a broad range of high-quality financial products to support thoughtful portfolio construction.
Schwab’s custody systems sync with PNA’s platform, giving funeral homes real-time visibility into balances, holdings, and performance. That same infrastructure provides account transparency to the investment manager and trustee.
FAQ
Learn More About Schwab & PNA

No. PNA has no custody of or access to client funds at any point. All accounts are held at Schwab, and the institutional trustee has sole authority to authorize any account activity or fund disbursements.
Schwab handles all 1099 tax reporting and issues annual statements directly to each pre-need customer in accordance with IRS requirements. Neither the funeral home nor PNA is responsible for this reporting.
